Q. We are stopped for the night, can I suspend just the Kitty Kat Kabana Custom Frame without its Screen Enclosure?

A. Yes you can use just the Custom Frame. The frame's metal lattice work is close together to prevent your cat from being able to accidentally get out. Two tips:

• Remember to reduce lighting inside at dark so you don't draw insects into your RV in the evening through the open window.
  
• Slip on a couple of rubber bumpers (included with your Kitty Kat Kabana) on the frame facing the window to prevent scratches.

Q.Will a Custom Frame work or do I need to purchase the ones with the Enclosure?

A. You can purchase a Custom Frame separately. It comes with the complete parts bag (described under pricing) needed for the initial installation.

You can use the Kitty Kat Kabana without the Screened Enclosure. Of course your pet will not have any protection from flying insects. Since you would not want to close the window and lock your pet outside, there is the chance any insects will find the open window and enter your RV. The trick that has been used is to keep the lights off near the open window so the insects are not attracted at night. Besides, the light interferes with your cat's nocturnal vision.

You can always purchase the Screened Enclosure at a later time if you find insects are forcing you to limit the times of day when your cat can enjoy being in their Kitty Kat Kabana. Many have enjoyed using the Custom Frames by themselves.

Q. I do not have a PayPal account. Can I use your BUY NOW link?

A. Yes you can and it is just as secure. The only difference is that without a PayPal account you need to enter all your billing info each time you make a purchase. With a PayPal account, you enter the information just once.

Q. I do not trust paying on-line. Can you invoice me?

A. Yes, we can. Just send an email to sales@kittykabana.com with your request. Naturally, it will be a much slower process since we will have to wait for your payment to clear through the banking systems before we can ship, but we can certainly meet your needs.

Q. Any tips on getting my cat to use it?

A. They will be naturally inquisitive, but the access point to the window may have been forbidden to them in the past. For example the dining room table or the back of a couch. It would help if you lifted your cat up to the opening and encouraged them to go out. The important thing is for them to know it is OK. Definitely don't force them to go out and definitely don't close the window on them when they are out there or they won't trust going out. You might consider having someone outside looking into the Kitty Kat Kabana calling them while the other lightly encourages them to go out. It may take a day or two, but once they know it is OK, they will be in and out when they please. When you arrive at a new location, expect your cat(s) to be waiting at the window for their Kitty Kat Kabana to be suspended and the window opened.

Q. Why isn't the Lounge Cushion the full size of the Kitty Kat Kabana?

A. Two reasons:

• While a cat enjoys laying on a cushion, they don't always enjoy standing on one. This way, they have a place with a solid surface to walk out onto and stand while they look around.
  
• You may wish to put a bowl of water or grass out with your cat(s). Having a hard surface facilitates those uses.

Q. If my cat does scratch a hole in the Enclosure can they escape?

A. It is difficult to rip a hole and is a reason Ripstop nylon was selected. Even if it was possible to rip a large enough hole, the openings through the sides of the Custom Frames of the Kitty Kat Kabana are only 1.75" X 4" and the floor is covered with a study ABS Plastic Floor Pan. Your pet cannot accidentally get lost.

Q. The Window page indicates the window can be opened up to 16" but my window slides open 20" . Does that mean I can't use the Kitty Kat Kabana?

A. No, it just means that you will not slide the window all the way open. Your cat doesn't need more than 16" to come and go. You can use the Kitty Kat Kabana.

Q.Where can I get the Reflective bubble wrap you referred to for filling a gap above or beside an extra large window opening?

A. Effective immediately, your Kitty Kat Kabana comes with a piece 1.5' * 2' that you can custom cut with scissors to fit any gap in your window opening. In the unlikely event that you need a bigger piece than that, just let us know in the special instructions part of your order PayPal order form. But to answer your question, the Reflective bubble wrap is commonly used as an insultation and is available at stores like the Home Depot or Lowes. Many RVers keep some as it can be quickly cut to force fit into a window frame to block intense heat or cold and can be used over and over again. Also great for insulating ceiling vents in the winter or to block UV rays when your rig is stored.

Q.Are the Kitty Kat Kabanas available at retail outlets in either Canada or the US?

A. The Kitty Kat Kabanas are only available on-line at this time.

Q. If I order today, how long will it take to receive?

A. We ship by UPS Standard which means you will have your Kitty Kat Kabana within 10 calendar days. In the unlikely event that it is out of stock at the moment, we will advise when you can expect to receive it. If you can't wait that long, we will promptly refund your payment in full.

Q.Most fabrics need to be treated against UV damage when left out in the sun for a long time. Is that true for the Enclosure as well?

A. Like most fabrics that will be in a sunny location for long periods of time it is recommended you treate it periodically with a fabric protectant like Ray Bloc UV Fabric Spray Sun Protector. Make sure it has totally dried out before letting your pet back out into the Enclosure
